RODGERS HITS COBB FOR 70-YARD TD
On just the fifth snap of the game, and the first third down, QB Aaron Rodgers bought some extra time in the pocket and then found WR Randall Cobb behind the defense down the right sideline. Cobb made the catch and ran away from the pursuit for a 70-yard TD and an early 7-0 lead. It was Cobb's team-best ninth TD catch of the season and sent him on his way to a five-catch, 126-yard night.
LACY RAMBLES FOR 67 YARDS ON SCREEN PASS
On the Packers' second possession, Rodgers tossed a short screen to RB Eddie Lacy to the right. Lacy got a couple of key blocks and then rambled through the open field, stiff-arming the final Saints defender before getting pushed out of bounds at the New Orleans 3-yard line. The play gained 67 yards in all and led to a field goal as Lacy finished the night with career-best receiving numbers of eight catches for 123 yards.
DEFENSE STOPS SAINTS ON FOURTH-AND-2
With the score tied at 16 early in the third quarter, New Orleans faced fourth-and-2 at the Green Bay 43-yard line and decided to go for it. But the Packers defense got strong penetration at the line and stopped Ingram after just a 1-yard gain, turning the ball over on downs to the offense.
