With the Packers trailing 27-7 on the opening drive of the second half, QB Aaron Rodgers fired to WR Randall Cobb down the left sideline and he raced past two tacklers for a 53-yard touchdown, his longest reception of the season.
SCRAMBLING THROW TO JONES CONVERTS ON FOURTH DOWN*
Needing to keep a fourth-quarter drive alive in the comeback effort, Rodgers spun away from the pass rush, scrambled to his left and found WR James Jones for a 36-yard gain to convert on fourth-and-14. Two plays later, the Packers were in the end zone again and within one score.
RANDALL SNAGS INTERCEPTION ALONG SIDELINE*
On the first play from scrimmage after the Packers pulled within 37-29, rookie CB Damarious Randall stepped in front of WR Ted Ginn along the sideline and intercepted QB Cam Newton's pass at the Carolina 22-yard line. The turnover gave the Packers a chance to complete their comeback, but they couldn't punch it in on the ensuing drive.
