Matthews passes Bill Forester (1959-62) for the most selections for a Packers' linebacker.
Matthews led the team with 11 sacks during the 2014 regular season.
It is his fourth season with 10-plus sacks, which is tied with Reggie White and Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila for No. 1 in team history.
Shields replaces New England Patriots CB Darrelle Revis. This is Shields' first trip to the Pro Bowl.
Shields started all 14 games he played in and posted 42 tackles (32 solo), two interceptions and 13 passes defensed (No. 2 on the team), while adding an interception in the NFC Championship.
Shields' 42 tackles and 62 interception return yards are the second most in a single season in his career.
Shields was part of a secondary that helped Green Bay rank seventh in opponent passer rating (82.0) this season.
Shields is the first Packers' cornerback selected to the Pro Bowl since Charles Woodson in 2011.
