Nov. 25, 2012 - WR Jordy Nelson ran for a 61-yard touchdown after catching a spiral from QB Aaron Rodgers in the first half against the Giants. The Packers' five-game winning streak came to an end as Giants QB Eli Manning threw three TD's to lead New York to the win in a Sunday night contest. Green Bay played without LB Clay Matthews, DB Charles Woodson and WR Greg Jennings.

Dec. 11, 1938 - Giants Hall of Fame FB Alphonse "Tuffy" Leemans (4) scores the first touchdown, on a 6 yard carry, in a 17-23 victory over the Packers in the 1938 NFL Championship played at the Polo Grounds in New York.

Jan. 20, 2008 - Giants QB Eli Manning looks to throw as he runs from DE Cullen Jenkins (77) during the NFC Championship game. Jenkins is now with the New York Giants after playing for the Packers from 2004-2010. Jenkins was part of the Super Bowl XLV Championship team for the Packers.

Dec. 11, 1938 - Only two feet short of a touchdown, FB Clarke Hinkle is shown halted by the Giants in the second half of the Championship game. On the next play the hard-driving fullback went over for a score. The Giants won, 23-17. Other Packers shown include: Cecil Isbell (17) and Bill Lee (40).

Jan. 6, 2002 - QB Brett Favre congratulates Giants DE Michael Strahan (92) after Strahan sacked him for the NFL sack record during the fourth quarter Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The sack gave Strahan 22.5 for the season, surpassing New York Jets Mark Gastineau's NFL record of 22 sacks. Giants DT Cornelius Griffin (97) also congratulates Strahan. The Packers won, 34-25, and advanced to play the 49ers in the 2001 NFC Wild Card playoff, a 25-15 Packers victory.

Nov. 24, 1929 - QB Benny Friedman of the Giants tackles unknown Packers back after making a ten yard gain at the Polo Grounds in New York.

Dec. 10, 1939 - QB Cecil Isbell of the Packers is stopped by Giants T Frank Cope (13) after a two-yard gain in the NFL title game played at the State Fair Grounds in Milwaukee. The Packers won, 27-0, before a crowd of 32,000 for the NFL Championship. Other Packers visible are E/B Larry Craig (54) and E Milt Gantenbein (22).

Dec. 26, 2010 - DB Charles Woodson breaks up a pass intended for Giants WR Hakeem Nicks. The win was the start of a winning streak to get into the playoffs, and the Packers ultimately won six straight to win Super Bowl XLV.The Packers and Giants have squared off in five NFL championship games, with Green Bay winning four of those contests. New York won the 1938 title at the Polo Grounds in New York, but the Packers defeated the Giants in the championship game in 39,
44, 61 and
62.

Dec. 30, 1962 - FB Jim Taylor (31) takes a handoff from QB Bart Starr (15) and finds a hole in the New York line to score a touchdown in second period of NFL title game at Yankee Stadium in New York. The 7-yard run was Green Bay's only touchdown in the Packers 16-7 over the Giants for their second straight NFL title. The other Packers points came on three field goals. Packers visible are TE Max McGee (85), WR Boyd Dowler (86), and G Fuzzy Thurston (63).

Dec. 30, 1962 - Members of the Vigilant Volunteer fire company of Great Neck, Long Island, N.Y., show their disappointment as they watched the Giants vs. Packers game on television in a downtown hotel (Penn Sheraton) in Philadelphia on Dec. 30, 1962. Television broadcast of the game was blacked out in the New York area so hundreds of fans journeyed to Philadelphia to watch the game.

Feb. 15, 1966 - Baltimore Colts QB, Johnny Unitas, laughingly watches three other NFL greats leap from a 1st infantry division tank during their visit to U.S. Installations in Saigon, South Vietnam. Dec. 4, 2011 - QB Aaron Rodgers and TE Jermichael Finely celebrate after scoring a touchdown at New Meadowlands Stadium; the Packers' 38-35 victory brought Green Bay's record to 12-0. The Packers enter Sunday's contest with a 33-10 record in their last 43 regular-season games, a .767 winning percentage that ranks No. 2 in the NFL over that span, trailing only New England (34-9, .791).

Oct. 22, 1967 - Dragging two Giants' defenders with him, Packers HB Elijah Pitts (22) scores a TD from the New York 10 in the third quarter against the Giants at Yankee Stadium. The Packers won, 48-21, finished first in the NFL Central. That year, the Packers won Super Bowl II vs. the Oakland Raiders.

Dec. 26, 2010 - DT B.J. Raji celebrates a sack during the second half against the Giants, a dance that gained instant fame. It was brought back during the NFC Championship at Chicago on Raji's interception return for a touchdown. Teach me how to Raji.

Dec. 3, 1961 - After clinching the Western Conference title in Milwaukee, teammates gang up to carry Coach Vince Lombardi. The Packers beat the Giants, 20-17. Other Packers are HB Paul Hornung (5), TE Max McGee (85), and DE Bill Quinlan (83).

Sept. 19, 1971 - CB Ken Ellis (48) takes a punt from the Green Bay goal line. He raced nearly 100 yards for the first touchdown of the game vs. the Giants. He was followed by Giants' Dick Kotite (87), Roland Lakes (76) and Greg Larson (53).

Sept. 19, 1971 - DB Doug Hart (43) looks for open field after intercepting a pass from Giants QB Fran Tarkenton (10). Packers Coach Dan Devine's leg was broken when Hart and a Giants player all collided with the head coach in the Packers bench area. The Giants won the season opener, 42-40.

Dec. 17, 1944 - Don Hutson catches a pass vs. the Giants in New York. Hutson, an E/DB from Alabama, played with the Packers from 1935-1945. His number 14 was retired by the Packers in 1951, and the club's indoor practice facility is named 'The Hutson Center' in his honor.

Dec. 26, 2010 - QB Aaron Rodgers and Giants QB Eli Manning meet after the game at Lambeau Field, a 45-17 victory for Green Bay. Two of the most venerable franchises in professional football history, the Packers and Giants have combined for 21 championships. Green Bay ranks No. 1 among all franchises with 13 titles, while the Giants check in at No. 3 with eight championships behind Chicago (nine).

Oct. 5, 1981 - TE Paul Coffman (82) catches a pass from QB Lynn Dickey in the fourth quarter over CB Beasley Reece (28) in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Packers beat the favored Giants, 27-14, at Giants Stadium with a crowd of 73,684. This weekend will be the fourth straight season that the Packers and Giants have faced off in the regular season, the first time that has happened in the series since 1980-83.

Quote from the Associated Press in 1961: "Paul Hornung, star left halfback of the Green Bay Packers, who is on leave from the Army, loosens up in his tennis shoes in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Dec. 27, 1961. The Packers worked out in zero degree temperatures in preparation for their game with the New York Giants on December 31."

Dec. 3, 1961 - G Fuzzy Thurston (63) leads the way for HB Paul Hornung (5) at Milwaukee County Stadium. The Packers won, 20-17, and won the NFL Championship against the Giants later that year, 37-0, led by Coach Vince Lombardi.

Sept. 17, 1995 - QB Brett Favre (4) throws a pass as G Aaron Taylor (73) blocks DT Ray Agnew of the Giants in Green Bay. The Packers won, 14-6, and finished first in the NFC Central that year.

Quote from the Associated Press in 1938: Green Bay Packers' Clarke Hinkle, an All League fullback for the past two years (1937-1936) and leading scorer in the National League. Hinkle and the whole team practiced, on Nov. 15, 1938 at the New York Athletic Club at Travis Island for their clash November 19 with the New York Giants." Hinkle was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1964.
