Hired Feb. 19, 2024, Aaron Hill begins his first season as strength and conditioning coordinator for the Packers. Hill is entering his sixth season coaching in the NFL, having spent the past five seasons as a strength and conditioning assistant with the San Francisco 49ers.
During his five seasons with the 49ers, Hill was part of a staff that helped the team to two Super Bowl appearances (2019 and 2023), a 54-29 regular-season record (.651, No. 5 in the NFL), three division titles, four playoff berths and four double-digit-win seasons (most in the NFC). The 49ers featured 30 Pro Bowl selections over the last five seasons, including seven-plus selections in each of the last three seasons (2021-23).
In 2023, Hill was part of a staff that helped San Francisco to top-10 league rankings in total offense (No. 2, 398.4 ypg), points scored (No. 3, 28.9 ppg), total defense (No. 8, 303.9 ypg) and points allowed (No. 3, 17.5 ppg). The 49ers featured a league-high nine players who were selected to the original Pro Bowl roster and five players who earned first-team All-Pro recognition from The Associated Press. RB Christian McCaffrey appeared in 33 of 34 games in 2022-23 after playing in just 10 games with Carolina in 2020-21 and was named the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year last season after leading the league with a career-high 1,459 rushing yards. Hill was part of a staff in 2022 that saw the 49ers finish with No. 1 league rankings in both total defense (300.6 ypg) and points allowed (16.3 ppg), the first time in franchise history that San Francisco led the NFL in both of those categories.
Prior to joining the 49ers, Hill spent four seasons (2015-18) at Vanderbilt University as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the football program, working with the team during the season and in the offseason. During his time with the Commodores, he worked with eight players who went on to be selected in the NFL Draft, including LB Oren Burks, who was picked by Green Bay in the third round in 2018, and LB Zach Cunningham, who led the NFL in tackles as a member of the Houston Texans in 2020. Hill joined the Commodores following an offseason internship with the Carolina Panthers in 2015. He also served as a strength and conditioning intern at the University of Minnesota in 2014.
Hill played linebacker at Minnesota (2010-13), appearing in 47 games with 28 starts and posting 192 tackles (118 solo), 3½ sacks, four interceptions, five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries during his four seasons with the Gophers. He ranked No. 3 on the team with 72 tackles (52 solo) as a senior in 2013, starting all 13 games and adding two INTs (including a TD return), two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. Hill was a two-time (2011-12) recipient of Minnesota's Butch Nash Award for being competitive on the field and in the classroom and earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition in both 2011 and 2012.
Born Sept. 5, 1990, in St. Charles, Mo., Hill earned first-team all-state honors an as a senior at Lutheran High School of St. Charles County (St. Peters, Mo.). He and his wife, Lexi, have a daughter, Olivia, and a son, Mylo.
