Biography

Darryl Franklin enters his sixth season with the Packers after being named the club's chief of staff in January 2019 by Head Coach Matt LaFleur.

Franklin works closely with LaFleur, serving as his main liaison to the various departments throughout the organization. He also serves as the liaison between LaFleur and the league office and as the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship coordinator.

Prior to coming to Green Bay, Franklin worked in the Washington Redskins' player personnel department for seven seasons (2012-18). From 2012-14, he worked as a scout for BLESTO in the northeast region before serving as a pro scout from 2015-18.

During the 2010-11 seasons, Franklin was based in Jacksonville, Fla., as a scouting assistant for BLESTO. He spent the 2009 season as an intern for BLESTO before transitioning to a full-time position. Franklin spent the 2008 season with the Detroit Lions as a player personnel intern, aiding in both college and pro scouting.

Prior to entering the NFL, Franklin spent three years as a graduate assistant at Central Michigan University, where he initially helped with the defense before later assisting with the offense. Franklin earned a master's degree in administration from Central Michigan with a sport concentration. He completed his master's project on predicting NFL career longevity using combine results.

Franklin earned undergraduate degrees at the University of Missouri, majoring in broadcast journalism and political science. He also served as a student assistant for the Tigers' football team, primarily working with the school's recruiting coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Originally from Toronto, Franklin attended Mount Hebron High School in Ellicott City, Md., where he served as the football team's student assistant. Franklin currently resides in Green Bay.
