Biography
Now entering his 21st season with the Packers, Mike Halbach begins his 10th season as the team's director of football technology after serving as manager of football technology in 2014. He first joined the Packers as a video intern in 2004 before working as a video assistant from 2005-13.
In his current role, Halbach leads the team's efforts in football analytics, the development and administration of football information systems, and the technical and audio-visual innovations impacting football operations. He was instrumental in the Packers' transition from paper to digital playbooks and from standard- to high-definition video. He developed and executed the team's game plan for the virtual, at-home NFL Draft in 2020 and played a key role in the football-facility expansion to Lambeau Field, which opened in 2023. His gameday role includes overseeing the sideline technologies used in-game by the coaches and players and assisting the head coach with game-management decisions.
Halbach graduated summa cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 2005 with a B.S. in communication processes with an emphasis in electronic media. He also earned a B.A. in communication and the arts with a minor in corporate communication.
A Wisconsin native, Halbach grew up on a family dairy farm in Hilbert, Wis. He and his wife, Stephanie, have three sons and a daughter.
