The Green Bay Packers placed LB Rashan Gary on injured reserve and signed WR Jeff Cotton to the practice squad. The transactions were announced Wednesday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.
Cotton (6-2, 206), a first-year player out of the University of Idaho, was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Los Angeles Chargers on April 30, 2020. He spent his rookie season on the Chargers' practice squad. Cotton signed with Jacksonville on July 30, 2021, and spent the season on the Jaguars' practice squad, appearing in one game as a COVID-19 replacement. He was released by the Jaguars following training camp this year and did spend some time on the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad in September. Cotton will wear No. 82 for the Packers.
