Green Bay signs TE Messiah Swinson to practice squad

The Green Bay Packers signed TE Messiah Swinson to the practice squad. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction on Thursday.

Swinson (6-7, 259), a rookie out of Arizona State, originally signed with the Packers as an undrafted free agent back in April. After training camp, he was signed to Green Bay's practice squad before signing to the active roster of the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 4. Swinson did not appear in a game for the Panthers and was released on Sept. 24. He spent three seasons at Missouri (2019-21), appearing in 23 games, before playing two years at Arizona State (2022-23). Swinson appeared in 24 games for the Sun Devils over the past two seasons, registering 21 receptions for 233 yards (11.1 avg.) and two touchdowns. He will wear No. 86 for the Packers.
