The Green Bay Packers have claimed CB Derrick Jones off of waivers from the New York Jets. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction Sunday.
Jones, a 6-foot-2, 188-pound third-year player out of the University of Mississippi, was originally selected by the Jets in the sixth round (No. 204 overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. He played in four games and registered three solo tackles for the Jets. Jones was a wide receiver for the majority of his first three years at Ole Miss but returned to cornerback, a position he also played in high school, for his senior season.
