The Green Bay Packers have signed LB La'Darius Hamilton off of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' practice squad and placed LB Za'Darius Smith on injured reserve. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Friday.
Hamilton, a 6-2, 261-pound, first-year player out of the University of North Texas, originally signed with the Dallas Cowboys in May 2020. He spent his rookie season on the practice squad of the Cowboys before being claimed off of waivers by the Buccaneers in May 2021 and has spent this season on Tampa Bay's practice squad. Hamilton played in 51 games at North Texas (2016-19) and finished his career tied for No. 6 in program history with 17.0 career sacks. He was named first-team All-Conference USA in 2018. Hamilton will wear No. 54 for the Packers.
