The Green Bay Packers have released LB De'Vondre Campbell. The transaction was announced Wednesday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.

"We want to thank De'Vondre for his contributions to the Packers and the community over the last few seasons," Gutekunst said. "He had a big impact on this team with his on-field performance and leadership as well as in the community through his charitable efforts. We wish De'Vondre, his wife, Nicole, and their family all the best."

"I've enjoyed a long relationship with Dre going back to our time in Atlanta and he's always been a tremendous leader and true pro. He was instrumental in our success and helped establish our standards in the locker room and on the field," said Head Coach Matt LaFleur. "I will always be a supporter of Dre and hope for his continued success. We wish him, his wife, Nicole, and their children, A'mari, A'vaya and Kash, all the best moving forward."

(duh-VONN-dray) Campbell started all 30 regular-season games and two of three postseason contests he played in for Green Bay since signing with the Packers in 2021. He was named first-team All-Pro by The Associated Press in 2021, becoming the first Green Bay inside linebacker to earn first-team AP All-Pro honors since Ray Nitschke in 1966. According to Stathead.com, Campbell was the only NFL linebacker and one of four players overall to post 95-plus tackles and multiple interceptions in both 2021 and 2022. His four interceptions from 2021-23 were tied for No. 8 among linebackers over that span (TruMedia). This past season, Campbell was named the team's nominee for the NFL's Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, an award that honors and acknowledges NFL players that excel on the field and demonstrate a passion for creating a lasting positive impact beyond the game in their communities. Prior to joining Green Bay, he played four seasons for the Atlanta Falcons (2016-19), who originally drafted him in the fourth round (No. 115 overall) out of the University of Minnesota, and a season for the Arizona Cardinals (2020).
