The Green Bay Packers have released T David Bakhtiari (bock-tee-R-ee). The transaction was announced Monday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.

"We want to thank David for an exceptional 11 seasons in Green Bay. From the moment he arrived, David established himself as one of the premier tackles of his generation and one of the best linemen in the history of the Packers," said Gutekunst, "His commitment and impact on the field and in the locker room cannot be overstated. We look forward to his inevitable induction into the Packers Hall of Fame and we hope for the best for David and his family moving forward."

"David is one of the best offensive linemen that has played in the NFL during my time in the league. His consistency and approach to his craft is unmatched," said Head Coach Matt LaFleur. "David's presence extended beyond his impact on the field, as he was a cornerstone of the Packers in the locker room when I arrived and was a great resource to our young team. We wish the best for David, his wife, Frankie, and their daughter, Felix, in the future."

Bakhtiari, who was originally selected by the Packers in the fourth round (109th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft out of the University of Colorado, started all 131 regular-season games and all nine postseason contests he played for Green Bay over the last 11 seasons. He is one of just two Packers offensive tackles in team history (Forrest Gregg, 1962-67) to earn All-Pro recognition from The Associated Press in five-plus consecutive seasons. Bakhtiari was the only tackle in the league to earn first-team or second-team recognition each season from 2016 to 2020. He also was named to the Pro Bowl three times (2016, 2019-20). Over his time with Green Bay, he helped the Packers win six division titles and appear in the playoffs eight times, reaching the NFC Championship on four occasions.
