The Green Bay Packers signed QB Alex McGough and TE Luke Musgrave, and released C DJ Scaife. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Wednesday.
(ma-GOO) McGough (6-3, 214), a first-year player out of Florida International University, was originally selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the seventh round (No. 220 overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. He has spent time on the practice squads of the Seahawks (2018, 2020) and Houston Texans (2019-20) and was on the active roster for the Texans from Weeks 2-6 in 2019, but was a gameday inactive for all five weeks. In 2023, McGough played for the Birmingham Stallions of the United States Football League, earning league MVP honors and leading his team to the USFL title.
