The Green Bay Packers signed RB Patrick Taylor from the practice squad to the active roster, elevated WR Juwann Winfree from the practice squad to the active roster for gameday and placed WR Sammy Watkins on injured reserve. The transactions were announced Saturday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.
Taylor (6-2, 217) is a second-year player who originally signed with Green Bay on April 30, 2020, as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Memphis. He has spent time on the Packers' active roster and practice squad, appearing in 10 games, including last week against the Chicago Bears after being elevated to the active roster for gameday. Taylor finished his college career ranked No. 3 in school history in rushing yards (2,884), tied for No. 2 in rushing TDs (36), No. 4 in carries (536), tied for No. 5 in yards per carry (5.4 avg.), No. 5 in all-purpose yards (3,322) and tied for No. 4 in 100-yard rushing games (11).
