The Green Bay Packers have signed T Spencer Rolland (RAH-land) to the practice squad. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction Tuesday.
Rolland (6-6, 306), was originally signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of the University of North Carolina on May 10, 2024, but was released after training camp. He started his college career at Harvard (2018-21) before playing his final two years for the Tar Heels (2022-23). He started all 43 games he played in during college. Last season, Rolland blocked for an offense that averaged 299.2 yards passing per game (No. 14 in NCAA and No. 1 in ACC), 192.1 yards rushing per game (No. 19 in NCAA and No. 3 in ACC), 491.2 total yards per game (No. 7 in NCAA and No. 1 in ACC) and 34.5 points per game (No. 20 in NCAA and No. 2 ACC), and blocked for the nation's fifth-leading rusher, Omarion Hampton, who ran for 1,504 yards. Rolland earned All-ACC honorable mention in 2023 and first-team All-Ivy League honors in 2021. He will wear No. 72 for the Packers.
