Packers sign Van Roten to active roster

The Green Bay Packers signed G Greg Van Roten to the active roster from the practice squad. The transaction was announced Saturday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

Van Roten (Van RO-ten), a 6-foot-3, 303-pound rookie out of the University of Pennsylvania, has been on Green Bay's practice squad for each of the first five games this season. He originally signed with the Packers on June 25, 2012.
