The Green Bay Packers have placed DL Dean Lowry on injured reserve, signed WR Bo Melton to the active roster from the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad, and released LB Tipa Galeai (tee-puh nah-lee-eye) from injured reserve. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Tuesday.
Lowry has played in 101 consecutive regular-season games, including all 15 contests with 12 starts this season. He is No. 2 on the defensive line with 43 tackles (23 solo).
Melton (5-11, 189) was originally selected by the Seahawks in the seventh round (No. 229 overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Rutgers University. He has spent the entire regular season on Seattle's practice squad. He finished his college career ranked No. 3 in program history with 56 games played, No. 6 with 164 receptions, tied for No. 8 with five 100-yard receiving games and No. 10 with 2,011 receiving yards. In his final season, Melton was selected All-Big Ten by Pro Football Focus (third team) and Phil Steele's College Football (fourth team). He will wear No. 80 for the Packers.
