The Green Bay Packers have signed WR Ishmael Hyman. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction Thursday.

Hyman (6-0, 196), a first-year player out of James Madison, began his pro career with the Orlando Apollos of the AAF in 2019. Later that year he signed with Tampa Bay and spent most of his rookie season on the Buccaneers' practice squad before being elevated to the active roster for two games late in the season. Hyman signed with Carolina in 2020 and spent most of that season on the Panthers' practice squad. He was waived by Carolina after the 2021 training camp and earlier this year played for the Michigan Panthers of the USFL, recording 15 receptions for 158 yards (10.5 avg.) and two touchdowns. Hyman will wear No. 5 for Green Bay.
