The Green Bay Packers Wednesday waived cornerback Joey Thomas. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, announced the transaction.

Thomas, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound second-year pro from Montana State, had made 16 tackles (12 solo) and three passes defensed in six game appearances this season, including one start (vs. Cleveland, Sept. 18). A third-round draft selection in 2004 by the Packers, Thomas saw action in 14 games last season and registered 15 tackles (13 solo), two passes defensed and six special teams stops.
