The Titletown Plaza will transform into a giant kaleidoscope starting Friday, April 12, with the debut of Prismatica, a one-of-a-kind traveling art installation.
Prismatica features 25 pivoting prisms more than six feet tall that transmit and reflect every color in the visible spectrum. Visitors can rotate the prisms to hear the variable-intensity soundtrack comprised of bell sounds.
The installation is free to experience, and visitors can wander and interact with the exhibit to see an infinite interplay of lights, colorful reflections and sounds.
Following its Friday opening, the installation will be accessible for visitors from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily on the Titletown Plaza until May 27.
Prismatica is a RAW Design in collaboration with ATOMIC3 and was produced by Quartier des Spectacles Partnership in Montreal, Canada. RAW Design is a Toronto-based architectural firm that works on a wide variety of scales and project types. From community greenhouses to large residential developments, not to mention outdoor interactive installations, its team of 30 architects and designers takes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. For Prismatica, the firm assembled a team of professionals from several fields (applied science, technology, art and architecture).
