Titletown will transform into a winter sports wonderland on Feb. 17 when it hosts the fifth annual Titletown Winter Games presented by U.S. Venture. Due to recent warmer temperatures, the format of the games will be slightly altered to provide guests with a better experience. The event will occur only on Saturday, Feb. 17, from noon to 7 p.m.
The free event will offer community members the chance to experience the thrill of winter sports for themselves with luge, curling, biathlon, speedskating and more available to guests. Those attending will also get to enjoy opening and closing ceremonies, photo opportunities, ice sculptures throughout the park and Olympic-themed crafts. The event will also feature a Winter Games Scavenger Hunt all around Titletown and a Countdown to the 2026 Winter Games to be held in Italy.
Instead of taking place on Ariens Hill, USA Luge will bring in a specially designed ramp and wheeled sleds for kids ages nine and up. It will provide guests with the chance to experience luge with the same ramp used for the USA Luge Slider Search, the official recruitment tour of USA Luge. Additionally, US Speedskating will put on interactive activities that simulate speed skating. Participants should be ready to try dynamic movements and test their speed with an Olympic Gold Medalist and representative from the DASH Speedskating Team. All ages are welcome. USA Curling and US Biathlon will continue as usual for all abilities, while ski jump and ice skating lessons will not occur this year.
Titletown and U.S. Venture will also welcome special guests for the event which so far include: four-time Olympian, six-time Medalist, five-time Olympic Gold Medalist Bonnie Blair for US Speedskating, three-time Olympian and 1998 Olympic silver medalist Gordy Sheer for USA Luge. Team USA Curling members from 2024 U28 National Silver Medalists Team Guentzel- Will Podhradsky, Mason Guentzel and Stewart Strack- will also be in attendance.
The Titletown Winter Games event is a collaboration between Titletown and U.S. Venture, headquartered in Appleton, Wis. Activities begin at noon on Saturday, Feb. 17, with an opening ceremony.
