Biography

  • Played in 16 games in 2023 and set career highs in games started (eight), tackles (82, No. 2 on the team), solo tackles (52, tied for No. 3 on the team), tackles for a loss (five) and QB hits (three), and recorded the first half-sack and pass defensed of his career. Also appeared in both postseason contests and made his first career playoff start.
  • Saw action in all 17 games in 2022 and made his first career start. Posted 30 tackles (19 solo) on defense and was tied for the team lead with a career-high 13 special teams tackles.
  • Played in 13 games as a rookie and registered two tackles on special teams while also appearing in the postseason contest, where he recorded a special teams tackle.
  • Earned second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors in 2020 after ranking No. 5 in the nation and No. 2 in the ACC with a career-best 107 tackles (54 solo).
  • A two-way performer at linebacker and running back who played for his dad, head coach Stevenson McDuffie, at Bennett High School in Buffalo, N.Y. Was a three-time captain and finished with school records for single-season tackles (161), single-game tackles (29), career touchdowns (70) and career rushing yards (5,529).
