Biography
The Green Bay Packers signed DL Nesta Jade Silvera on Jan. 14, 2025.
Silvera (6-2, 304), a second-year player out of Arizona State, was originally selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in the seventh round (No. 231 overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. He played in nine games for the Raiders in 2023-24, registering 10 tackles (three solo) before being released on Oct. 21, 2024. Silvera spent the rest of the season on the practice squad of the San Francisco 49ers. Silvera played collegiately at the University of Miami (2018-21) and Arizona State (2022), appearing in 53 career games and totaling 161 tackles (62 solo), 20.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, four passes defensed, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He earned All-Pacific-12 honorable mention as a senior after posting a career-high 56 tackles (20 solo), 1.5 sacks, three passes defensed and a forced fumble.
