GREEN BAY – When the Packers went 80 yards for a touchdown in eight plays on their second possession of Sunday night's win at Seattle, they capped their best offensive start to a game in more than a calendar year.
So that makes it the Chevy Drive of the Week from the 30-13 triumph over the Seahawks.
Already up 7-0, Green Bay picked up where it left off the second time it got the ball, flipping a short pass to RB Josh Jacobs, who made a couple moves to gain 21 yards. Jacobs had touched the ball on nine of the Packers' 10 plays on their opening TD drive, totaling 44 yards on that possession.
Now he was just adding to his huge first quarter.
After a 9-yard completion to WR Jayden Reed, the Packers picked up another first down on RB Emanuel Wilson's 1-yard run. Then it was back to Jacobs for a 19-yard carry off the left side, giving him 40 total yards on this drive and 84 in the period.
Reed followed with another 9-yard gain on an end-around and RB Chris Brooks moved the chains again with a 6-yard run for a first down at the Seattle 15. A short 2-yard completion to Reed preceded a slant pass to WR Romeo Doubs, who had missed the previous two games with a concussion and was getting his number called for the first time.
All Doubs did was drag one defender and run over another to get across the goal line for a 13-yard score, putting the Packers up 14-0, and the Seahawks were never within one score again.
Green Bay had two touchdowns on its first two drives in a game for the first time since beating Kansas City at Lambeau Field in late November of last year.
