Packers.com has consulted more than two dozen mock drafts from reputable national outlets and compiled a list of players most frequently mocked as draft selections in the latter portion of the first round (picks 18-28) who could be available when the Packers are on the clock at No. 23 overall.
Between now and draft day, those players will be profiled with thumbnail sketches and videos known as "Prospect Primers."
Today's player is …
Mykel Williams, Edge, Georgia
Height/Weight: 6-5, 260
Key stats: Led Georgia's defense in pressures, according to Pro Football Focus, with 33 in 2022 and 26 in 2023.
College honors: Named second-team All-SEC each of the past two seasons following Freshman All-America honors in '22.
Background/other info: Seen as a prototypical 4-3 base defensive end, didn't put up the sack numbers that jump off the page, with just 14 over three seasons. But played through an ankle injury in the '24 season opener that affected much of his season as he posted 8½ tackles for loss, five sacks and two forced fumbles in 12 games. Didn't run at the scouting combine and then was clocked in the 4.7s in the 40 at Georgia's pro day, confirming attractive speed at his size. Stayed in his home state for college after initially committing to USC as one of the top 10 defensive line recruits in the country. Is just 20 years old, turning 21 this summer. Viewed as a high-ceiling prospect for a team willing to be patient with his development.
