Quick Pick: Packers draft LB Ty Summers in the seventh round

TCU linebacker had an impressive showing at NFL Scouting Combine

GREEN BAY – The Packers have selected TCU linebacker LB Ty Summers with their seventh-round pick (No. 226 overall).

A team captain, Summers (6-1, 241) split time between linebacker and defensive end in 2018. He totaled 48 tackles with four sacks in 10 games (nine starts). Summers closed his career with 318 tackles, the second-most by a Horned Frog in the 18-season tenure of head coach Gary Patterson.

Summers had an impressive showing at the NFL Scouting Combine in February, running a 4.51 time in the 40 with 27 bench reps and a 36-inch vertical in Indianapolis.
