Packers.com has consulted more than two dozen mock drafts from reputable national outlets and compiled a list of players most frequently mocked as draft selections in the middle portion of the first round (picks 10-20) who could fit Green Bay's potential roster needs.
Between now and draft day, when the Packers own the No. 15 overall selection in the first round, those players will be profiled with thumbnail sketches and videos known as "Prospect Primers."
Today's player is …
Tyree Wilson, Edge, Texas Tech
Height/Weight: 6-6, 271
Key stats: Over 23 games the last two seasons, recorded 14 sacks among 27½ tackles for loss.
College honors: Named either first-team or second-team All-America by nearly all the media selection outlets, and was first-team All-Big 12, in 2022.
Background/other info: Began his college career at Texas A&M, playing in 12 games as a redshirt freshman in 2019, before transferring to Texas Tech. After a seven-sack, 13½-TFL season in 2021, was on track for his best year with seven sacks and 14 TFLs through 10 games in 2022 when a foot injury cut his season short. Was credited with an impressive 50 total QB pressures (hurries, hits, sacks) in those 10 games by Pro Football Focus. Following surgery on the foot, was unable to work out at the combine (except the bench press) or at Texas Tech's pro day, but was reportedly planning to have a pre-draft workout for teams at the conclusion of his rehab. Possesses a large frame, massive wingspan and undeniable power that could see him become the second edge defender off the board after Alabama's Will Anderson Jr.
