GREEN BAY – The reigning NFL MVP is not No. 1, but he's right up there.
Packers QB Aaron Rodgers came in at No. 3 in the NFL Network's "Top 100 Players of 2021," the eighth time he's been in the top 10 and the third time in the top three.
Rodgers won his third NFL MVP award in 2020, just the sixth player in the history of the honor to do so. His 121.5 passer rating was the second-best single season mark in league history, behind only his 122.5 rating in 2011, when he won his first MVP.
Rodgers' highest rankings on this list have been No. 1 in 2012 and No. 2 in 2015, not coincidentally after both of his previous MVP seasons. In addition to his eight total appearances in the top 10, Rodgers also has been ranked No. 11 twice and was No. 16 in 2020.
He set single-season team records with 48 touchdown passes and a 70.7 completion percentage last season, and he became the first player in the league since Steve Young in 1992 to lead the league in passer rating, passing TDs, completion percentage and interception percentage (0.95).
Rodgers also earned his ninth career Pro Bowl selection, tying Hall of Famers Brett Favre and Forrest Gregg for the most in team history.
The "Top 100" list is a peer ranking, voted on annually by players around the league.
