GREEN BAY – Last year, Aaron Jones' ranking matched his jersey number. This year, he's a tad higher.
The Packers' Pro Bowl running back came in at No. 30 in the NFL Network's "Top 100 Players of 2021," three spots higher than a year ago.
In 2020, Jones set a career high with 1,104 rushing yards, a 30-yard improvement over the prior year despite playing in two fewer games. He had nine rushing touchdowns, a far cry from his 16 in 2019, but he's just one of three players with 2,000-plus rushing yards and at least 25 rushing TDs over the past two seasons. The others are Tennessee's Derrick Henry and Minnesota's Dalvin Cook.
During the past two years, Jones also has added more than 800 receiving yards and five receiving TDs as well.
The "Top 100" list is a peer ranking, voted on annually by players around the league.
