Packers.com has consulted more than two dozen mock drafts from reputable national outlets and compiled a list of players most frequently mocked as draft selections in the latter portion of the first round (picks 18-28) who could be available when the Packers are on the clock at No. 23 overall.
Between now and draft day, those players will be profiled with thumbnail sketches and videos known as "Prospect Primers."
Today's player is …
Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama
Height/Weight: 6-3, 235
Key stats: Racked up team-high 117 tackles, including 11½ for loss and five sacks, in 13 starts last season.
College honors: Named first-team All-Southeastern Conference in 2024.
Background/other info: All-around linebacker who is just 21 and capable of playing off the ball or on the edge as a smaller speed rusher. Quickly developed into one of the nation's top defenders in 2024 after recovering from a knee injury early in 2023 and eventually starting most of the games that year. After initially committing to Clemson, went to Alabama from IMG Academy in Florida, where he transferred as a senior from New Jersey. His ability to make plays against the run, as a pass rusher, and in coverage make him an attractive defensive centerpiece. Clocked a 4.52 in the 40 at the combine but then needed shoulder surgery on a torn labrum and missed Alabama's pro day. Still expected to be a first-round pick despite uncertainty regarding health timeline for his rookie season.
